~~Moules Frites~~

This is one of my favorite dishes. Moules Frites is quintessential French and Belgian Bistro food at its best. In fact, I LIVED on Moules Frites when I was in Normandy, France.  Crazy phun and crazy yummy! 

Super easy to make.  While the fries are baking in the oven, throw the following in a large skillet:
                      
~ a pat of butter
~ a couple of tablespoons of olive oil
~ a can of clams (with juice)
~ a little garlic and onion (I don't measure)
~ a dash of salt
~ a generous pour of dry white wine (cooking is more phun if you pour a glass for yourself, too) 
~ two pounds of fresh (or frozen) mussels


Cover and bring to a boil.  The mussels are done when they are opened fully.  (Pitch the few that do not open.)  

The rest is an obvious breeze.
