~~Barking Elephant Seals~~

Point Piedras Blancas, along Pacific Coast Highway 1, is home to hundreds of elephant seals at any given time.

The males grow to be 5,000 pounds, while the females grow to "only" 1500 pounds.  The teen-aged males, like most teenage boys, are the most fun to watch. They love to spar, change their voices, butt their chests and nip at each other's necks in play fighting.

I especially liked one warning sign I read, "NEVER get between a seal and the water."  Really?  Oh, at 5000 pounds?  Really?
